The Artlenz Story

The Artlenz System® is the result of a collaborative effort by card artist Gail Ellison and her "art" engineer husband, Tom. Gail is a retired kindergarten teacher with a life long love for arts and crafts. Tom, a retired chemist and part time consultant (E innovations, inc.), has a background in plastics, coatings and adhesives with focused activity on paint film development for the automotive industry.

When traveling on business or pleasure, Gail would always find a Stamp store to visit. On one occasion while waiting in one store's "husband containment" area, Tom recalled the work of a friend who developed a plastic lens sheet for use in photography and advertising (see www.microlens.com). Tom realized that this unique lenticular lens could be the source of great fun and creativity in the hands of stampers, if it could be adapted for crafting.

Artlenz evolved over several months of material development. The requirements for a rubber stamp were analyzed, perfected and a patent applied for. Printed sheets were developed to provide an added capability. Many fun hours were (and continue to be) spent developing techniques to illustrate the almost endless clever and artistic visual effects possible with Artlenz. The business plan for Artlenz products is to develop innovative products and techniques and to market them through retail Stamp, Craft and Scrap Booking stores. Stores will be added to the distribution as rapidly as possible to bring the fun of Artlenz to your area.
